      • School Management Organisation The School is managed by the DBS School Committee. Two committees are formed to supervise the management and operation of DBSPD. The Primary Division Sub-Committee is responsible for policy formulation and to consider views and recommendations put forward by the Primary Division Management Committee. The Primary Division Management Committee is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Primary Division and to co-ordinate the operation of the various existing frontline committees and workgroups of the School.

      • School Green Policy Our school launches the Green Campus and Environmental Ambassador Scheme which provide chances for students to implement their knowledge about environmental protection in their daily life.

Our vision is to prepare students to become contributors to society and leaders with integrity in a diverse and ever-changing world.
      • Learning & Teaching Strategies The unique school design and well-equipped classrooms enable our teachers to adopt a flexible approach of teaching. Students' learning is not confined to within the classroom. Other outdoor areas, such as the roof gardens and school field, are constantly used. Besides the core subjects, each boy can choose his own electives, such as Astronomy, Money Management and Etiquette, etc. To maximize students' exposure to different learning areas, teachers organize regular field trips, including overseas study trips for them. Cross-curricular projects are also adopted to reinforce students' application of knowledge and skills introduced in different subjects.
      • Development of Key Tasks Reading Scheme: Students join reading programmes as well as on-line reading schemes. Multi-media Teaching: All rooms are equipped with IT and audio-visual equipment to enable students' easy access to the internet and school intranet.
      • Development of Generic Skills All subjects share the same emphasis to help students develop various generic skills, such as creativity, critical thinking and communication skills, etc.
      • Whole School Approach to Cater for Student Diversity The teacher/student ratio is 1:12. Lift-off Classes are organized after school to support students who have learning difficulties.
      • Whole School Approach to Integrated Education The School adopts the 3-Tier Support Model and provides in-class, small group and individual support to students. For students with SEN, the School provides assessment accommodations, training groups, speech therapy and IEP according to the needs of individual student.
      • Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking(NCS) Students Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: appoints additional teacher(s)/teaching assistant(s) to support NCS students’ learning of Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; developing school-based Chinese Language curriculum and/or adapting learning and teaching materials; and organising cultural integration activities.
      • Curriculum Tailoring and Adaptation Supersize Me Programmes are organized for the talented students to develop their specific talents in various subject areas. Lift-off Classes are organized to provide support for students who are weak in English, Chinese, Maths & Putonghua.
      • Home-School Co-operation Teachers and parents communicate closely in good partnership. The Parent-Teacher Association has regular meetings in order to strengthen the co-operation and communication between the School and parents.
      • School Ethos DBS has a long school history and strong tradition. We focus on providing an all-round education to our youngsters, and prepare them to become contributors to the society. The through-train establishment also prepares our students for a seamless transition to the Diocesan Boys' School.

      • Fee Remission Scheme Our school offers full school fee remission, 3/4, 1/2 or 1/4 school fee remission, Subsidies for overseas study trips and extra-curricular activities. Needy students, including those from families receiving the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) and students receiving financial assistance provided by the Student Financial Assistance Agency (SFAA) could apply for fee remission. Newly admitted students could apply for fee remission at any time if necessary.
