      • Secondary One Admission Our school will accept discretionary places. Our school will participate in the Secondary School Places Allocation System through central allocation stage (Applicable for admission to S.1 in September 2020 ). The selection criteria are as follows: 1. Ranking of school results (50%); 2. Conduct grade, extra-curricular activities, service, awards and others (50%).
      • Orientation Activities and Healthy Life A 2-week summer bridging program incorporating core subject knowledge, English Presentation and adaptation skills to prepare students for upcoming challenges of secondary education is in place. Newly arrived students are targeted for quick settling in S.1 through a program titled "My new world—summer page". S.1 Parents' Day to disseminate the directional plan of school development and expectation on new students run regularly in every summer. An IT workshop for parents of new students to raise awareness of information technology education in the school is organized. S.1 orientation and Assembly Etiquette workshops in conjunction with Moral Training Camp to boost the communication skills, resilience and social interaction of students are school routines. Physical Fitness Check for S.1 and First Aid courses for all junior form students to enhance their adaptability are run as usual. Class streaming, Self-regulatory revision class, Enrichment and Remedial courses to boost students' learning capacity are developmental policies.

        • (1)School's Major Concerns 1. To further nurture among students, especially new comers, the virtues of being self-disciplined, rule-abiding, caring and polite, as well as eager for service for a refined and sustainable framework of Fung Ling Spirit to set in place; 2. To further nurture ideal attitude and interest in learning, boost language proficiency and confidence for eagerness to learn; 3. To promote the mindset of appreciation and gratitude while enhancing a sense of belonging.
        • (2) School Management Organisation: School Administrative Committee is set up as subordinate of Incorporated Management Committee to oversee developmental strategies of the school. About 25 functional committees are in place to implement school policies. The interests of different stake-holders are well communicated through various channels for self-improvement and pursuit of excellence.
        • (3) Incorporated Management Committee / School Management Committee / Management Committee: IMC was founded in 2008 to realize school-based management and the spirit of school motto of "enlightening of wisdom and exemplification of kindness", complemented by whole-person development. All stake-holder managers play critical roles in formulating developmental plans and strategies from macro-perspective angles.
        • (4) School Green Policy: Horticulture Corner and rooftop garden set in place. Produce of organic farming is given out to the needy aged who live alone during charitable visits. Won considerable number of awards in various contests like The Best Category Award of Secondary School Section in 2014 Charitable Produce Competition, 1 1st 1 2nd and 3 3rd in HK Schools Green Potted Plant Contest in 2015 Blue Sky Green Land HK Contest. In the HK Flower Show (Secondary Category) held by Leisure and Cultural Services Department,the school won numerous prizes for the three recent consecutive years.
      • Learning and Teaching Plan
        • (1) Whole-school Language Policy: 1. In order to boost students’ bilingual and tri-dialect competence, all language teachers are well-versed with relevant qualifications for subject specialization. The deployment of Native English Teacher also makes possible a wide array of activities Through English Across Curricular initiative, junior form students are taught in English in specific topics of chosen subjects. Rich English campus atmosphere is cultivated through school based e-learning platform. Apart from routine academic weeks like English Week, Chinese Culture Week and Putonghua Days, the school is also actively coaching students for Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival, Writing Contest and Story Telling Competitions, and has seen years of excellent achievements. 2. Students were eager to join various language activities in public arena and the total number of awardees in the previous five years amounted to 600 in 320 categories involving 773 head counts, among which 72 champions, 39 1st runners-up and 67 2nd runners-up. Students were conferred with the Class A Award of Hengyuanxiang Writing Star and Silver Award (Junior Forms) Glorious Sun Writing Star with their excellent writings in 2015-2016 and 2016-2017, the most Creative Writing Award in Writing contest held by Asia Child Education Association, The Young Writer Award in the 10th Literature Contest co-hosted by Faculty of Arts and Language Centre at HKBU in 2018-2019, as well as the champion of HK Footprint Photography and Essay Competition held by Conservancy Association.
        • (2) Learning and Teaching Strategies: 1. Both Enrichment and Remedial classes to prepare senior-form students for public examination while after-school tutorials and summer bridging courses to help S.1 students settle in are well in place. Challenging questions for assessment are general practices for subject tests and examinations to cater for high-ability students. 2. Teaching and Learning meetings are held regularly to review students' performance in various tests and examinations so that focused strategies can be devised for improvement.
        • (3) School-based Curriculum: 1. Electives: 2X. Students can choose 2 electives from a pool of 11 subjects.2. Curriculum highlights: School-based curriculum designed by teachers is set for junior form Integrated Humanities and STEM Education to keep abreast with the education reform as well as respond to students' learning needs. In respect of the need for Other Learning Experience, both Aesthetic Studies and Applied Learning in conjunction with Student Learning Portfolio are available to senior form students.
        • (4) Development of Key Tasks: 1. For Reading, DEAR, Drop Everything And Read, is the school’s morning reading philosophy. Extensive reading and School-based e-learning are major projects launched by the two Language subjects. Library Sharing Corner, Book Recommendation, and Reading Week are example activities. Students also won in successive years the Harvard Book Merit Prize. The library also reaped The Quality Library Commendation Award in 2017 and 2019. 2. To keep abreast with time, the school promotes AR/VR to widen reading experience whilst Librarian Teacher was proud to be invited to share tips of success two years in a row. 3. A cross-KLA Project Learning targeted at junior forms weaving a holistic coverage of generic skills like collaboration, communication and application. Our teachers are also awarded The Best Tutor by Consumer Council who works in conjunction with the school. 4. For IT, visualisers and computers linked to school server are basic classroom facilities. The school is keen on promoting STEM education and sees success in different renowned contests alongside the establishment of it as one of the formal school-based subjects in junior forms. Students got The Best Performance Award (Secondary Section) in HK Schools IT Elite Challenge Meet VEXIQ Robotics Contests both in and outside HK, prizes include My favourite Parade fleet (Senior Section) in 2019 Robofest HK Challenge, the 1st runner-up of HK Adjudicatorr Challenge Meet 2019 VEXIQ, Class C Award in HK-Macau Youth Invitational Robotics Challenge, Gold Award of Robot League and Most Creative Award of 12th HK Robotics Meet. 5. For Civic and moral education, good virtues are fostered through well-planned morning assembly talks, weekly assembly and form-teacher lesson workshops and activities.
        • (5) Career and Life Planning: Life-planning is done on a 6-year basis starting from S.1 Activities focus on self-understanding, goal-setting, understanding of subject choice to pave way for future jobs, Mock Release of DSE results and Group Counseling. In 2015, 11 S.4 & S.5 students attended Job Shadow Program of Junior Achievement Project (Hong Kong Branch) at Panda Hotel while 2 students joined Train for Glorious Trip held by Hong Kong MTR Incorporation Ltd. 2 students won Excellent Works Prize in Share your Experience in Airport Visit Contest 2014-2015 while 3 students got awards for Excellence in a Day as An Engineer Project Report Contest. In 2016-2017, 6 students attended Mentoring Programme for Job Placement. Other activities included a 2-day field trip to Foshan and University Entrance Examination Experience Day to expose students to careers and studies on the Mainland and in Taiwan through cultural studies trip.
      • Student Support
        • (1) Whole School Approach to Cater for Student Diversity: Streaming and split-class teaching are in tandem with graded materials and after-school learning activities to cater for learners' diversity while exemplifying the value of peer learning and inclusive mindset. Individual learning needs are well catered for through the ethos of mutual respect and acceptance.
        • (2) Whole School Approach to Integrated Education: The School is keen on building inclusive culture through whole-school approach to cater for the need of SENs. The supporting team members include the principal, vice- principal, SEN coordinator, social workers and experienced guidance teachers, together with educational psychologist and speech therapist, to take care the need of SENs. SEN teachers and SEN TAs are also hired to facilitate the cooperative learning of SENs, and provide group and individual guidance. To this end, the school makes good use of Learning Support Grant and community resource to raise the learning effectiveness of students through diversified support programmes. Examples include Multiple Intelligence Happy Learning Project, Social skills/Emotion Management and Concentration Training Groups, Fun to Read and Write Workshop, Speech Enhancement Team. The School also runs a series of summer programmes and Self-care Camp activities to make possible personal growth through happy learning. Regular meetings are held among professionals to devise feasible and concrete support and adjustment plan regarding the learning, homework design and assessments of SENs in need. The School solicits for support from parents through some well-set communication channels through which effective intervention strategies and skills can be sought for the best interests of their child. Two parents Meetings will be held annually for review of learning progress with Team Leaders on top of Parents Talk and Parent-Child Workshops to equip Parents with helping techniques as well as enhance interaction with their child.
        • (3) Education Support for Non-Chinese Speaking(NCS) Students Our school provides additional support for NCS students to facilitate their learning of Chinese: providing after-school support programmes in learning Chinese; arranging intensive Chinese learning and teaching mode(s), e.g. pull-out learning if necessary, split-class/group learning, etc.; and organising cultural integration activities. The school provides various courses to address the needs of NCS.
        • (4) Measures to provide adaptation for Learning and Assessment: Annual result is the summative report of uniform tests, examination and various coursework. Paper and Pencil assessment is complemented by students' performance in daily class/home work, projects, field trips, oral reports, reading reports, etc. Continuous assessment of and for learning is the focus of school. Both pre- and whilst-test/examination revision classes are run for S.1 students new to the school.
      • Home-school Co-operation and School Ethos
        • (1) Home-School Co-operation: 1. Parent representatives are official members of Purchase and Procurement Committee and work for the sole interest of students through harmonious co-operation with the school. 2. Parent-Teacher Association is enthusiastic in organizing various activities. Projects include Parent’s Appreciation of Teachers Day, Evening Music Concert and various theme-based talks. In the previous 4 years, PTA was generous to subsidize more than 60 projects with the total sum of 200 thousands.
        • (2) School Ethos: 1. The school was the invited guest speaker of Showcase of Discipline and Counselling Work at School–Teachers Experience Sharing Day 2013 held by Education Bureau, as well as the 2014 Spiritual Education Sharing co-hosted by Hong Kong University of Education and Spiritual Education Centre. 2. Commendable behaviours are credited through programmes like Saurus Award and Discipline/Cleanliness Competitions. Around 600 students (96.5%) awarded a dazzling 5490 commendation stamps, among which 274 got gold, 81 silver, 80 bronze and 69 purple, generating very positive response from parents. 3. The school honours simplicity and austerity, and hence students' dress-code, punctuality and assembly etiquette can all live up to expectation. 99.1% of students were punctual to school and 19.5% were awarded Merit of Conduct.

        • (1) School Development Plan: To refine the sustainable framework for enhancing students' sense of belonging and the mindset of appreciation and gratitude with "Fung Ling Spirit" set in place. School's Key Concerns: The three targets of action are as follows; 1. To further nurture among students, especially new comers, the virtues of being self-disciplined, rule-abiding, caring and polite, as well as eager for service for a refined and sustainable framework of Fung Ling Spirit to set in place; 2. To foster learning strategies and boost language proficiency as well as confidence for eagerness to learn; 3. To promote the culture of appreciation and gratitude while enhancing sense of belonging.
        • (2) Teacher Professional Training and Development: Teachers' skills of counseling, teaching and IT are enhanced and updated to keep abreast with new situations through various professional development activities. The School is eager to opt for School Support Services to advocate E-learning and STEM Education as shown in being one of the pilot schools to promote reading through AR/VR application and a handful of teachers being invited to share good practices in various subjects such as Mathematics STEM "seed" projects, junior secondary Chinese History support scheme for pilot schools, plus Ethics and Religious Studies school-based teaching material development. Our PE panel received the Outstanding Coach Award held by Hong Kong Coaching Committee. To strengthen exchanges between teachers and students between HKSAR and Mainland China, the School is also actively joining the HK-Guangdong Sisters Project.
      • Life-wide Learning Activities including Five Essential Learning Experiences, Key Learning Areas, Extra-curricular Activities, Co-curricular Activities, etc. 1. Encouragement of service learning: Students are encouraged to give service. Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, Red Cross, Community Youth Committee, Volunteer Teams and Fung Ling Youth Committee are organizations with this ends for establishment. 2. 1 Student was conferred Gold Award of Community Service, 9 for the Silver Award and 13 for the Bronze Award in Volunteer Movement commissioned by Social Welfare Department. The Volunteer Team also reaped The Commendation Award of Outstanding Volunteers in the Creative Social Service Contest of Service Anyway Programme. 3. These four years, the School CYC won 3 Gold and 1 Bronze prizes in the Theme Event (Wanchai) held by CYC commissioned by EDB. Our students won the Best Team Award and Gold Award in Wanchai Themed-activities for 4 successive years, as well as chosen as representative of Wanchai District to do overseas sharing. Girl Guide was also placed in the top 10 Best Sales in the Raffle Ticket Fund-raising Event in the last 2 years while advancing to the top 5 in 2018. It was also awarded the Best Girl Guide. 4. School promotes outside school service, a total of 244 students from different forms gave service of more than 2800 hours. 5. A total of 813 counts of head were conferred awards, certificates and commendation prizes in 150 categories, covering 133 headcounts in 42 academics, 174 in 44 physical education, 98 in 19 aesthetics, 408 in 45 others plus scholarship categories.

Mass Media Sharing: Both teachers and students were eager to attend public seminars and activities as well as share teaching/learning experience in various media like Digital Radio for Walking Through the Campus, Commercial Radio for Campuspedia, Hong Kong Radio for Time to Excel, and Life Magazine: Extraordinary People; STEM Seeding Project sharing, AR/VR Reading Promotion Pilot Experience sharing, School Support Experience Sharing by Chinese History and Mathematics, mechanism for School-parent communcation, sharing of school-based teaching material of Ethics and Religious Studies. 2. Study Tour Beyond the Border: a total of 28 study tours were run in 2013 to 2019, destinations include Shanghai, Nanjing, Hanzhou, Wuhan, Yichang, Chuxi, Zhaoqing, Foshan, Shunde, Panyu, Macau, Guangxi, Bangkok (Thailand), Shenyang, Vietnam, Taiwan, Beijing, Seoul (South Korea),Fujian, etc. 3. STEM Education: Students reaped Silver Medal in VEXIQ Challenge 2017 held by Asian Robotics League, the most Energetic Award and 3rd-Class Award in 2017 Robotics Elite Invitation Contest (Guangzhou-HK, Macau), Class-C Award in Creative Technology Contest (Chinese University of HK), Merit Prize in 2018 Underwater Robot Contest. These were taken to a high level with being the Champion of My favourite Parade Fleet(Senior Section) in 2019 Robofest HK Contest held by HK Robotics Institute, 1st Runner-up of The Best Team Award in 2019 VEXIQ HK Adjudicator Contest held by Asian Robotics Alliance, Class C Award of Youth Robotics Invitation Challenge held by Zuhai Science and Technology Association, the Gold Award of Creative Design and Robots League in 12th Asian Pacific Robofest Challenge Meet (HK District). 4. Exploration into Mathematics: the School won bronze Medal in 15th & 16th International Problem-solving Contest, Class C Award in 36th HK Math Contest co-held by HK Education University and Education Bureau Math Section. 5. Media Innovation: 1st runner-up of 2014 Creative Micro-film for Basic Law Contest run by Wanchai District Board. The School also got the Greenest Video Clips of HK Schools Contest (2016) held by Environment Protection Unit. Merit prize of ProjectNET Innovation Literacy Clip Contest held by HK Youth Federation. 6. Music and Artistic Talent: Musical Instrument for All Programme is launched in junior forms. One student was awarded 1st runner-up in 8th Asian-Pacific Youth Piano Contest (Junior Elite) and Merit prize of Diploma Open Class. The School's Chinese Orchestra reaped Silver Award in Joint School Music Contest 2018 while School Choir and Brass Band got Brass Ensemble Bronze Award, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze meal in the 5th Asian Pacific Youth Piano Contest. Outstanding Students: 11 students got Outstanding Youth Award in Wanchai Outstanding Youth Election hosted by Wanchai Youth Committee in 2013 to 2018. The honorable Level-up Award of the Secondary Students Level-up Campaign (2013) hosted by PTA Committee and International Lion’s Club as well as the Ten Best Citizens Award of WoFu Outstanding Student Citizen Award Scheme is another distinguished feat in 2014.
